Andy, Jayne, Ann and Pete operate our helpline during office hours, 9.00 - 5.00 Monday to Friday. Outside office hours there is an answerphone - leave a message and Andy, Jayne, Ann or Pete will phone you back.
You are not alone. The helpline is open to anyone - you don't need to be a member of the Society to call us.
When you are told you have a serious eye condition, the shock that you feel is like receiving the news of a bereavement. The realisation of having to face the future without central vision is very difficult to accept in the early stages of diagnosis, particularly when there seems to be no one to turn to for help.
Our helpline is often the first point of support for those who have been told "I'm sorry, there is nothing we can do for you..."

BT landline calls to 0845 numbers cost the same as a local call, no matter where you are in the country: calls made from mobiles usually cost more. |
