MDS Group & Community Support Managers

The Macular Disease Society employs two members of staff dedicated to developing local MDS Groups and Community Support Desks around the UK.  Michelle Dutton covers the Northern region of the UK and Tom McInulty covers the Southern region.

Their role is to expand and strengthen the MDS Group Network as well as the MDS Community Support Desks.

Michelle & Tom also regenerate groups which are declining and offer advice and support to new groups just starting up.

A key part of their roles is to expand the post diagnosis support provided in both eye clinics and the community. Helping newly diagnosed patients is a key role for the Society and Tom & Michelle's previous experience of eye clinics is extremely valuable here.
