The Geddes Reader

The Geddes Reader, a device developed to help Visually Impaired people read again.
Invented by Leslie Geddes, a retired engineer, formerly of Ferrantis Edinburgh, for his wife Ann who has Macular Disease.
A few years ago, Les showed George Kay a photograph of the Reading Aid, which only cost about £50 to make. George went to see it working, was very impressed and said, “How can we make them available for Visually Impaired people who cannot afford expensive CCTV’s”.
George recruited volunteers, retired engineers who were willing and experienced, and who offered their services free. A superb team was formed. The volunteers worked from their homes, keeping costs to a minimum and we purchased stock in bulk. We have now improved them to work with colour.
In four years, we have sold over 740 Geddes Readers without any advertising. Users tell other people about this device.

We send them out on a free trial basis, under “Articles for the Blind.”
Geddes Readers have been sent to Spain, France, Holland, Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and all parts of the UK.
They connect to a TV through the Scart or Phono connection.
Very simple to use, portable, and at only £65.00 (the cost of the materials used) very affordable.
We have many glowing testimonials.
